As the daughter of an Education Assistant, I have always been drawn to working with children that do not ‘fit the mould’ in standard educational settings. After graduating with a B.A. in geography and visual arts and then a B.Ed. from Vancouver Island University, I moved to Calgary. In Calgary I explored teaching, facilitating and leading in alternative settings such as at Telus Spark and the City of Calgary Parks and Recreation where I discovered my passion for play, learner-led inquiry, and outdoor experiential learning.

Since I was two years old, I have been drawn to both Music and Mountains. It was this love for music that propelled me to complete a music degree in BC, and it was the mountains that called me home to Calgary. After completing my B.Ed at U of C, I explored the education field by working as a substitute teacher and as an aid supporting young children with special needs. It was through this work that I discovered my passion for working with diverse learners, play based environments, and inquiry-based learning. I am excited to continue to walk along side learners in creativity, empathy, and exploration.
