Admissions & Tuition

We believe that there should be choices and alternatives in education so that each child can learn and grow with joy and confidence. We also created this school with the belief that there is not a one-size-fits-all approach to education and we are looking for students and families who share our vision.

Best Fit

We are a high-energy school!

  • Seeking creative personalities, sensitive dreamers and busy innovators in grades K-6 for the 2020 school year (*7-8 in 2021).

  • We are a secular school that welcomes families from all backgrounds, family structures, orientations, faiths and belief systems who are open to learning from one another.

  • Students should be able and willing to spend several hours outdoors each day and in most weather conditions.

  • Students should be able to work well in a 1:16 teacher-student ratio.

  • Families must support an approach to education that is rooted in empathy, wellness, exploration, innovation and Changemaking.

  • The ideal student will be creative, empathetic and may already be demonstrating signs of early leadership or have a desire to make a difference in the world.

    • We can provide excellent accommodations, supports and enrichment for both typical and advanced learners who are typically performing at or above grade level as well as

      • Students who are Gifted.

      • Students with mild/moderate ADHD.

      • Students with Anxiety.

Due to limitations in our resources at this time, we would not be well-suited for students with moderate-severe learning disabilities or those with a history of oppositional defiance, aggression or physical violence. Additionally, due to the significant amount of time our students will be spending outdoors, we would not be well-suited for students facing medical fragility or who might be considered a flight risk. Please contact us prior to applying If you are unsure about suitability and would like to discuss the unique needs of your child.

Application Process

It is strongly recommended that all parents attend an information session prior to applying.

Book a Personalized Information Session Here

Step 1: Complete the Online Application (opens January 20, 2020) and pay the non-refundable application fee ($100).

Step 2: If your child appears to be a good fit based on the online application we will invite your family to an interview.

Step 3: If we mutually agree that the interview went well, we will promptly send you a welcome letter with further instructions or provide details about our waitlist (waitlists are based on the time and date the online application was submitted)

In order to offer small class sizes, quality programming, maintain a safe and healthy facility and to attract and retain 'best-fit' certified teaching staff, we must charge tuition and other fees, solicit donations and work hard to raise funds. It is important to understand that an accredited independent school operates under a not-for-profit organization that is governed by a Board of Directors and is carefully monitored and audited by Alberta Education.

We aim to clearly communicate all costs upfront so families can budget and make a decision prior to applying. We will never surprise our families with additional costs throughout the year.
