We do not believe in a one-size-fits-all approach to education. There are so many bright, creative and empathetic students that just need a school that 'thinks outside of the box' so that they can learn and grow with joy and confidence and among like-minded friends. We are a secular school that welcomes families from all backgrounds, family structures, orientations, faiths and belief systems who are open to learning from one another.
Students should be able and willing to spend several hours outdoors each day and in most weather conditions.
Students should be able to work well in a project-based, active group environment. Our average class size is 8-10 students for academic blocks but some of our co-curricular/option blocks will have combined classes of up to 24.
Families must support an approach to education that is rooted in empathy, wellness, exploration, innovation and Changemaking.
We are looking for students who are kind, creative, empathetic and may already be demonstrating signs of early leadership or have a desire to make a difference in the world.
Our learning environment is best suited for:
Typical and advanced learners who are comfortable working close to grade level or above.
We also have excellent supports for learners who have anxiety.
Due to limitations in our resources and funding at this time, we would not be well-suited for:
Students with behaviour challenges, a history of oppositional defiance, aggression or physical violence.
Students with moderate-severe learning disabilities or delays.
We are unable to offer full-time classroom assistants or 1:1 aides.
Additionally, due to the significant amount of time our students will be spending outdoors, we would not be well-suited for students facing who might be considered a flight risk.

In order to offer small class sizes, quality programming and to attract and retain 'best-fit' certified teaching staff, we must charge tuition and other fees, solicit donations and work hard to raise funds. It is important to understand that an accredited independent school operates under a not-for-profit organization that is governed by a Board of Directors and is carefully monitored and audited by Alberta Education. We do not receive any government funding or grants in our first-year of operation.
We aim to clearly communicate all costs upfront so families can budget and make a decision prior to applying. We will never surprise our families with additional costs throughout the year.
Full Time Kindergarten
Div 1 & 2
*Our Kindergarten program is 5 days per week from 8:30am-3:20pm.
**Grades 1-6 is 5 days per week from 8:30am-3:30pm.
(*Founding Families Rates apply for all students who registered prior to September 2020).
Tuition Payment Options:
A) Annual lump sum. Covers year in full.
B) 10 Monthly Payments (Registration deposit of one month’s tuition due at time of registration).
*If a student’s registration is cancelled or withdrawn after the school year has started, the family forfeits all non-refundable amounts as outlined above in addition to 3 months of tuition payments.
Fees (K-9) 2020-2021
$100 Application Fee (non-refundable, due when submitting online application, does not guarantee admission).
$2500 Capital & Sustainability Fee (non-refundable, one-time fee per child, for successful applicants, due with first-year registration only).
$450 Off-Site Activity and Enrichment Fee (annual fee for registered students).
Additional costs to consider include:
Uniform and appropriate outdoor clothes for all seasons.

Step 2: Complete the Online Application and pay the non-refundable application fee ($100).
Step 3: Student will participate in one of our trial days.
Step 4: If we believe your child and family to be a good fit, we will promptly send you a welcome letter with further instructions or provide details about our waitlist within 3 business days.
