Admissions & Tuition

We do not believe in a one-size-fits-all approach to education. There are so many bright, creative and empathetic students that just need a school that 'thinks outside of the box' so that they can learn and grow with joy and confidence and among like-minded friends. If your family and children fit the description below, we may just be that one-of-a-kind school you have been dreaming of:

  • Seeking creative personalities, sensitive dreamers and busy innovators in grades K-6 for the 2020 school year (*7-8 in 2021).

  • We are a secular school that welcomes families from all backgrounds, family structures, orientations, faiths and belief systems who are open to learning from one another.

  • Students should be able and willing to spend several hours outdoors each day and in most weather conditions.

  • Students should be able to work well in a 1:16 teacher-student ratio.

  • Families must support an approach to education that is rooted in empathy, wellness, exploration, innovation and Changemaking.

  • We are looking for students who are kind, creative, empathetic and may already be demonstrating signs of early leadership or have a desire to make a difference in the world.

We can provide excellent accommodations, supports and enrichment for:

  • Typical and advanced learners in Kindergarten - Grade 6 (adding 7-8 next year) who are comfortable working at/above grade level as well as:

    • Students who have been assessed as Gifted.

    • Students with Anxiety.

*ACADEMY PROGRAM: We can also accommodate and support students in Grades 1-3 with the following learning differences:

  • Students who are Gifted2E.

  • Students with mild/mod ADHD.

  • Students with dyslexia.

*Academy students will work with our ADHD specialist in a small group setting which will be integrated with our regular programming. All students should be comfortable working at/above grade level in a group environment. There are no additional fees for this program this year.

Due to limitations in our resources and funding at this time, we would not be well-suited for:

  • Students with moderate-severe learning disabilities or behaviour challenges.

  • Students with a history of defiance, aggression or physical violence.

  • Students who require a classroom assistant or aide (unless providing your own).

  • Additionally, due to the significant amount of time our students will be spending outdoors, we would not be well-suited for students facing medical fragility or who might be considered a flight risk.

Please contact us prior to applying If you are unsure about suitability and would like to discuss the unique needs of your child.

In order to offer small class sizes, quality programming and to attract and retain 'best-fit' certified teaching staff, we must charge tuition and other fees, solicit donations and work hard to raise funds. It is important to understand that an accredited independent school operates under a not-for-profit organization that is governed by a Board of Directors and is carefully monitored and audited by Alberta Education. We do not receive any government funding or grants in our first-year of operation.

We aim to clearly communicate all costs upfront so families can budget and make a decision prior to applying. We will never surprise our families with additional costs throughout the year.
