Community Guidelines

  • We welcome families from all backgrounds, family structures, orientations, faiths and belief systems. Keeping an open mind and maintaining a willingness to learn are essential qualities in creating a safe, respectful and empathetic school community of Changemakers.

  • Building a thriving student community is very important to us. Our students are challenged to meet and exceed grade-level work in a 'hands-on' project-based, active and collaborative environment. It is important that students are willing to put in their best effort, to try new things and to work well with others.

  • Families in our school community must support an approach to education rooted in outdoor play, creativity, wellness, empathy, exploration, critical thinking and innovation.

What do we offer?

  • A warm, compassionate and supportive learning environment.

  • Small class sizes (average of 12 students per class).

  • Offering choice, voice and challenge in student learning.

  • Learning that is designed and tailored to student interests and passions.

  • A strong emphasis on social-emotional learning, wellness, leadership and Changemaking.

  • A significant portion of our learning and play time is outdoors and/or in nature each day.

Due to limited funding and resources, we are unable to accommodate...

  • Students with behaviour challenges, oppositional defiance or a history of aggression or physical violence.

  • Students who require 1:1 aides, nursing staff or special intervention equipment or providers (unless providing your own).

  • Students who may be a flight risk or danger to themselves or others in an outdoor learning environment.

*As we are not a designated special needs school, we are limited by funding, resources and our expertise. Please reach out prior to applying if your child has complex needs.
